Dear EightSix Community,

During these unprecedented times, the health and safety of you and your loved ones is the top priority. To this end, social distancing and other measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 have resulted in restaurants, bars, hotels, casinos and other hospitality businesses closing their doors for an indefinite period and laying-off their dedicated staff. This is obviously not news to you, for you and most everyone in our industry has been impacted by these closures either directly or indirectly.

While most of us, thankfully, remain healthy, the economic impact of the hospitality shutdown has been devastating. We know you may be hurting from being laid-off and we know you may be scared for what the near future may bring.

As Canada’s restaurant and hospitality job site, it is our job to bring you the top jobs from the best employers in our industry. And, at the moment, it pains us that we cannot provide you with help in this way because there are simply so few employers with jobs to offer.

Until our industry can reopen for business, we will do our best to keep you updated with what’s going on in our News section as well as provide you with resources on our Blog to help you through this time. We encourage you to sign up for job alerts and keep your eyes on our Jobs list for the employers that are still hiring. We also suggest that you take this opportunity to update your EightSix Profile and add employment references so you are ready to apply to jobs without delay when hiring rapidly ramps up ahead of openings. We’ll make every effort to assist in other ways as the situation progresses.

As challenging as things are right now, our industry will recover. Good times will roll again with buzzing dining rooms, busy kitchens, packed hotels, and money in our pockets. Until then, please stay safe and healthy – and know that EightSix Network will be here to help you and our industry get back on its feet as soon as it is safe to do so.
