The Position

Attracts, gains and maintains loyalty of new and existing clients.  Builds a client network and property reputation through in-person and on-line marketing, and through traditional and social media. Drives the success of our fine dining steakhouse through the promotion of events and products.  Provides entertainment and premier customer service to our guests while serving and preparing beverages.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Mixes signature cocktails and infused beverages for guests. Recommends new signature cocktails.
  • Guides clientele through all phases of their experience to promote return visits and recommendations.
  • Maintains and demonstrates expert knowledge of the site, upcoming events, products, menu (food and beverage), wine and beer selection.
  • Attracts, greets and provides service to clientele within time guidelines ensuring they feel welcomed and receive extraordinary value for their entertainment investment.
  • Provides entertainment to guests with flair moves and putting on a show while preparing and expediting beverages accurately to guidelines and procedures.
  • Employs effective selling techniques and delivers superior service following company procedures and training manual.
  • Initiates conversation and encourages client feedback. Reports feedback to management and provides input on new marketing ideas.
  • Provides solutions to guests concerns and ensures guest satisfaction within scope of the position and financial guidelines.
  • Notifies clients of upcoming events in person, via e-mail, social media, or traditional communications.  Generates enthusiasm for these events.
  • Attends and participates in off-site community events to promote the restaurant and the casino as required.
  • Participates in photo sessions to develop promotional materials as required.

 

What You’ll Require

  • 2 years of bartending experience with at least 6 months at a fine dining establishment
  • Serving It Right (BC)/Proserve (Alberta) Certificate
  • Wine knowledge or Sommelier experience an asset
  • Bartending training certification and experience
  • Enrolment in or completion of marketing or hospitality diploma/certificate program or equivalent experience an asset
  • Tourism, promotion, marketing, entertainment, event training experience preferred
  • Food Safe Level I certificate
  • World Host / Super Host certificate or other similar customer service program
  • WHMIS training an asset
  • Fluency in second language an asset
  • Ability to initiate client conversation and discretely obtain contact information
  • Proven selling, marketing, and service skills in a dining, retail, or promotions environment
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
