CRAFT Beer Market is a premium casual restaurant with a passion for fresh local food and fresh local beer. We focus on using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, all menu items are handcrafted in house to provide the freshest food possible.

This is the restaurants management position with overall responsibility for both Front of the House (FOH) as well as profitability. He/She maintains active control over the execution of all aspects of the restaurant while on shift. An individual in this position oversees staff, training, guest satisfaction, drink and meal production, cleanliness, upkeep, food handling and safety of the entire operation during their shift.
The main focus of this position is working with the management team, leading staff, and performing a number of administrative tasks. He/She maintains active control over the execution of all aspects of the operating system with the main focus and performance based on recruiting, selection, training and development. He/she will work closely with the General Manager (GM), Assistant General Manager (AGM) while ensuring the business is in compliance with current system requirements.
This person leads by example with the companies “hands on impactful” philosophy and should also represent and practice all of the CRAFT Core Values.
•This position works out of the restaurant with a 45-50 hour per week
•Able to travel and or relocate if needed Marketing & Sales:
•Drives delivery of the CRAFT experience to each and every guest
•Assist the AGM with marketing strategies
•Supports overall sales & marketing environment
•Achieve and deliver brand standards
•Prep time, food & beverage quality
•Store specific marketing events
•Assist with functions and events
•Ensure hostess team pose a great 1st impression, and quality is achieved daily
•Aware of upcoming industry events
•Aware of day/night and total sales Culture & Team Members:
•Accountable for every position at the store level during his/her shift
•Development: assist in the development and mentorship of team members
•Maintains open lines of communication with all employees in regards to positive/ constructive reinforcement for positive performance behaviours
•Assists in giving feedback to team members for growth and development
•Maintain leadership culture by instilling core values, motto, and mission statement
•Has knowledge of all products and suppliers required in operating the business
•Works closely together with managers and supervisors, to ensure that all aspects of the operation of the restaurant are in order while on shift and sets up other managers for success when leaving his/her shift
•Adheres to schedules, and tasks put on by senior management. When necessary delegates such tasks to capable individuals, in order to keep the restaurant in top working order
•Provides support/ guidance/ feedback as required for effective direction and betterment of the overall team
•Places a strong emphasis on “doing things right”
•Is dedicated to the guest experience at all times
•Spends 80% of the working day on the floor supporting the staff, and enhancing/building customer relationships Environment:
•Demonstrates a timeless environment
•Reports any staffing, food quality, and maintenance issues to the AGM or works with the AGM to deal with issues that keep the restaurant working at its optimum levels
•Works closely with FOH and kitchen team members to ensure all facets of FOH/kitchen operations are maintained to CRAFT standards and guidelines
•Ensures Health & Safety standards are being adhered to
•Leads by example, and always on the top of his/her game
•Maintains an environment of positive and professional employee relations at all times
•Ensures daily/weekly side duties are maintained
•Janitorial contract is up to date and performing to expectations
•Supports overall labour costs during shifts
•Assists and understands budgeted dollars available
•Assist the AGM with labour budgets
•Food and Beverage inventory maintenance
•May be required to make some major decisions about scheduling, allocation of time for training and maintenance tasks.
•Works closely with all managers and supervisors to maintain labour budgets and make proper scheduling changes or adjustments
•Ensures all product ordering/receiving is accurate and punctual
•Continually exploring new and existing “seminars”
•Remains alert to, and is interested in developments in the overall foodservice industry
•Brings ideas that may be of interest to the company and to the attention of the ownership and operations team
•Provides support for, and performs other tasks as they may be assigned by the GM or AGM from time to time.
•Has a hands on approach to tasks given, to ensure the main goal is achieved for best in industry results Qualifications:
•Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
•Must be Cicerone Server certified, Cicerone Certified is preferred
•Knowledge of industry sales
•Proven selection and training of great team members
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office is an asset
•Knowledge of graphic design programs is an asset
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
•Ability to work well with a team or individually
•Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience
•Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
•Accuracy and attention to detail
•Outgoing personality with a sense of humour
•Have a wild personality
•Energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented
•Hospitality industry experience would be an asset
•Ability to exercise good judgment & show initiative
•This individual also works effectively without supervision at all times, and has a well-developed sense of business acumen
