Position: Cafe Supervisor (Hourly)
Type: Full-time availability required
Location: Bisha Hotel- French Made

The Café Supervisor is an integral contributor to the overall success of the café and is responsible for leading all team members. The Café Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day store operations, maintaining high standards and conditions, and fostering a positive work environment. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to lead a team and direct the vision of the highest quality operation while liaising and working closing with other departments in the hotel. This position reports to the Corporate Food & Beverage Manager and the Outlets Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Financial Management
-Be accountable for the business performance of the Café
-Prepare reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, clearly denoting labour and COGS
-Achieve operational objectives by completing action plans, implementing productivity, quality and standards of service
-Liaise with the BOH Management team to control costs by reviewing portion control, quantities of preparation, and minimizing waste
-Ensure all costs are included in the POS system
-Complete the weekly war report and daily cash outs accurately
-Maintain a petty cash with receipts for all purchases and ensure submission to -Accounting in a timely fashion

Personnel Management
-Review employee hours to prepare for payroll, prepare gratuity distribution, and maintain accurate employee records
-Interview and hire staff to meet the staffing levels required
-Train, coach, develop and discipline all front of house employees through ongoing feedback and the establishment of performance expectations
-Make decisions concerning hiring, development, promotion, and disciplinary action affecting team members
-Create an engaging and energetic environment where all associates work as a highly functioning team

Shift Execution
-Perform opening, mid and closing shifts, depending on business need
-Manage daily operations including cleanliness, organization, revenue opportunities and staffing
-Manage staff, by providing them with feedback to maintain a high level of employee morale
-Create a staff schedule two weeks in advance.
-Ensure staff is completing all daily responsibilities including opening and closing checklists, maintaining order and waste sheets, and conducting proper inventory
-Ensure staff is properly managing product shelf-life for all items and maintaining display cases to the company standard
-Teach staff to respond to guest complaints promptly through service recovery and implement change when necessary to optimize consistent guest satisfaction
-Complete daily ordering requirements and ensure ordering is maintained in your absence
-Ensure that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards
-Ensure all staff is knowledgeable on all coffee beverages, coffee related products
-Ensure all staff maintains the espresso machine during service and conducts proper daily cleaning at the end of each shift
-Ensure all staff is knowledgeable on product offerings in order to advise guests properly
-Coordinate product changes.
-Quickly and accurately identify critical information and make independent judgments in accordance with company philosophies and business practices

Guest Relations Management
-Manage guest relations and guest recovery
-Provide exceptional guest service, thereby setting the standard for all employees
-Monitor staff performance and hold staff accountable for their performance, ensuring guest’s experiences meet the highest standards

Operational Execution
-Review staffing levels and schedules to ensure labour forecasts are met
-Complete weekly ordering of supplies; manage orders and inventory; maintain records of all purchases
-Manage all necessary repair and maintenance issues.
-Maintain effective communication with all other departments of the hotel
-Coordinate with other F&B outlets and hotel departments to ensure guest expectations are exceeded

Education & Experience
-2+ years’ experience as a Café Supervisor of a high volume café
-Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business/Hospitality Management/Food and Beverage Management and/or equivalent an asset

-Exceptional guest service orientation
-Must possess a strong attention to detail
-Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
-Proven problem solving abilities
-Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
-Must possess strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage staff
-Ability to motivate and manage staff
-High personal integrity, professionalism and maturity
-Excellent math, reading, writing and communication skills
-Exceptional interpersonal skills
