In a well run restaurant you may never know that a restaurant manager ever exists. Most people never even see one until something goes wrong. Hair in your food? Poor service? Wrong order? Bet you'll be asking for the manager. But they're more than just complaint filters. Restaurant managers are responsible for every aspect of the hiring process for all of their employees including interviewing, hiring and training. When they're not attending to personnel needs, they're also responsible for food service and administrative duties.

Typically payroll, licensing, food ordering, inspections and all sorts of other paperwork are handled by restaurant managers. These tasks require extensive training and experience, because errors can be extremely expensive. Assistant restaurant managers are often responsible for the "front of the house," which includes hosts and hostesses, servers and sometimes bartenders. Assistant managers report to the general manager and help oversee the day-to-day activities in the restaurant to keep things running smoothly

About Mill Street The Beer Hall

Mill St. Brewery officially opened in December 2002. The brewery began in an original tank house within the historic Gooderham & Worts Distillery complex, now known as the Historic Distillery District.

Built in the late 1870s, the building is a well-preserved example of classic Victorian industrial architecture. In 2013 Mill St. Brewery added a new dimension to the Mill St. Brew Pub family with the launch of The Beer Hall. Using a sophisticated draught beer delivery system, The Beer Hall offers a selection of Mill St. beers pumped through copper encased beer lines.

The delivery system also services a copper still that is used to distill the new Mill St. Bierschnaps. Created from their award-winning craft beers, the Mill St. Bierschnaps, a traditional German style dry spirit, is a first for Canadian Craft brewers. The production of Bierschnaps brings back a 150 year old tradition of distilling to Toronto's historic Distillery District. The Beer Hall celebrates the tradition of its namesake with communal seating with a modern, lively atmosphere and showcases their space with an open concept kitchen, copper still and beer lines.

The menu is designed with a modern take on hearty, traditional beer hall fare. We showcase every one of Mill St. Brewery's beers by Brewmaster Joel Manning.

We also offer delivery. Our driver leaves every hour on the hour. Orders can be placed until quarter to every hour. We will delivery everything from 6-packs to kegs. Delivery available for the area between Mill Street to Lakeshore and Parliament Street to Cherry Street.
