We are looking for a motivated, hard-working individual to work with us. An individual who possess time management skills and a passion for creating delicious dishes that will satisfy our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
- Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sauteing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or maintaining.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Handles stores and rotates all products properly.
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing kitchen checklist for kitchen station. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
- Attends scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
- 6 months experience in similar capacity.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for up to 9 hours.

About Mill Street The Beer Hall

Mill St. Brewery officially opened in December 2002. The brewery began in an original tank house within the historic Gooderham & Worts Distillery complex, now known as the Historic Distillery District.

Built in the late 1870s, the building is a well-preserved example of classic Victorian industrial architecture. In 2013 Mill St. Brewery added a new dimension to the Mill St. Brew Pub family with the launch of The Beer Hall. Using a sophisticated draught beer delivery system, The Beer Hall offers a selection of Mill St. beers pumped through copper encased beer lines.

The delivery system also services a copper still that is used to distill the new Mill St. Bierschnaps. Created from their award-winning craft beers, the Mill St. Bierschnaps, a traditional German style dry spirit, is a first for Canadian Craft brewers. The production of Bierschnaps brings back a 150 year old tradition of distilling to Toronto's historic Distillery District. The Beer Hall celebrates the tradition of its namesake with communal seating with a modern, lively atmosphere and showcases their space with an open concept kitchen, copper still and beer lines.

The menu is designed with a modern take on hearty, traditional beer hall fare. We showcase every one of Mill St. Brewery's beers by Brewmaster Joel Manning.

We also offer delivery. Our driver leaves every hour on the hour. Orders can be placed until quarter to every hour. We will delivery everything from 6-packs to kegs. Delivery available for the area between Mill Street to Lakeshore and Parliament Street to Cherry Street.
