We’re hiring Culinary Coaches, otherwise known as Assistant Sous Chef to join the pre-opening team at the new Stanley Park Brewing Restaurant & Brew Pub located at the Beach Avenue entrance to Stanley Park and scheduled to open later this year.

We are looking for energetic people with relevant experience to add to our team. As such, our Sous Chef training program is designed to create the next wave of corporate chefs, through monthly seminars and on-site training. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Sous Chef, Chef and General Manager, the Culinary Coach (Assistant Sous Chef) is responsible to cover all Sous Chef responsibilities in their absence. Working closely with the Sous Chef, Chef and front of house management team to ensure smooth service while maintaining a clean, safe, and profitable environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Kitchen prep
  • Product orders
  • Bi-weekly environment audit
  • Food testing / tasting
  • Attend store level management & coach’s meeting
  • Review secret shop reports
  • Weekly profit review
  • 90-day plan
  • Attend regional chef meetings
  • Assist in revenue increase through promotional initiatives in collaboration with operations team
  • Monthly review & check-in with direct report
  • Daily one-on-one with each team member on shift to review professional development & progress
  • Work in partnership with day manager

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in the restaurant/culinary industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs (25 kg)
  • Energetic team player with a positive can-do attitude

Our Concept

A new restaurant experience that celebrates the spirit of the park with good food and great craft beer brewed on site.

Small Batch Innovation Brewing: fully contained: no extension to building footprint, and no venting of smells to the outside.

Restaurant: family friendly and offering a full-service west coast casual menu, thoughtfully designed to complement the beers brewed on site.

Retail Space: to facilitate sales of unique beers brewed on site in small batches; as well as locally sourced Stanley Park Brewing merchandise. Located inside the restaurant, not through Concession area.

Private Functions: a unique venue for corporate and family events, limited only to the licensed spaces; adhering to noise and operating hour by-laws.

Education: offer beer training, brewery tours and education programs.
