Job Description

The Place: Bloom Restaurant is a family owned restaurant opened in 2004. Employees at Bloom are part of our family. We work together in a respectful and supportive environment, as a result we have very low turnover of staff. We recently lost our Sous Chef who will pursue new career paths. As a result, we are looking to add a new team member. We have an Executive Chef who is on contract to help us with menu development and prep of ‘heavy’ dishes as needed.

The person we are looking for. Ideally we would like to hire a person who enjoys working in a very collaborative style and lead a small team and manage the kitchen. An positive individual with a ‘let’s get it done’ attitude who enjoys taking charge and delivering top notch food and service. We are a Spanish-Latin restaurant therefore experience and/or passion for Spanish or Latin cuisine is preferred as well as Spanish speaking would be a great asset.

The Skills we are looking for in a person is the ability to manage every aspect of running a kitchen.

Directs food preparation and collaborates with the executive chef.
Oversees and supervises kitchen staff.
Assists with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies.
Ensures that food is top quality and that the kitchen is in good condition.
Keeps stations clean and complies with food safety standards.
Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance.
Prepares food during service
Trains new employees.
Creates weekly inventory of food products
Monitors and maintains kitchen equipment.
Solves problems that arise and seizes control of issues in the kitchen.

Hours of Operations - We are open Thursday to Saturday 5pm to 9pm. Prep hours are flexible. The Sous Chef can work Wednesday to prep or go in early every day of operation. For now we expect the Sous Chef to work 24-30 hours per week
