Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Graphic Designer will be supporting marketing campaigns on multiple platforms by producing highly creative designs. The ideal candidate will be a multidisciplinary Designer and master task-manager who is able to verse multiple projects at once. We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, loves to try different food, and can work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for various projects from conception to completion, projects may range from brand identity, graphic design, menu development, signage, to digital experience.
Key Responsibilities - Overview
-Collaborate with Operational Manager(s), Brand Manager(s), Project Manager(s) and other Graphic Designer(s)
-Own design material from conception to execution
-Working directly with suppliers to control costs within agreed budgets
-Manage workload according to business priorities
-Maintain archives and visual assets for current and future projects
-Team player, who can handle wearing many hats
-Ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of detail on all phases of each project
-Work with the creative team to ensure tasks are being completed on time
-Research current design, keeping up to date on trends
-Knowledge of photography principles and composition awareness
-Open-minded approach to all design related projects, egoless work while considering all other inputs to streamline ideas
-Full understanding of printing and prepress design, as well as possessing the skills for prepping files for output
-Ensure proper scheduling all print jobs, ensuring that efficiency and quality standards are maintained, as well as the best use of resource
-Guide and mentor the Graphics team in both creative and technical aspects of design production
-Keep up to date with print / digital menu edits, designs and work with chef(s) on new menu roll outs to assure it is completed on schedule
-Be the day to day contact for venues, General Managers in venue
-Understand brand management and upkeep all brand standards on all platforms, assuring the tone of voice is cohesive
-Confident with content structure with InDesign CC, building character styles, and paragraph styles to maintain the menu styling consistency
Brand Development + Management
-Work closely with other Designer(s), Marketing Specialist(s) to create engaging campaigns that focus on brand strategy to promote associated venues
-Utilizing established brand guidelines / creating new guidelines, for new brands
-Contribute ideas / consult the overall design and branding internally
-Assist in preparing various forms of content for multiple platforms
-Confident with brand implementation with established and new brands
Technical Creative Planning
-Ability to source relevant graphic material while keeping copyrights in mind
-Utilize graphic software programs to design and produce graphics by providing image retouching, resizing, and additional image manipulation
-Prepare images for print and digital outputs
-Ability to storyboard (motion graphics), moodboards, shot lists (photoshoots), and build visual languages for current or new brands
Skills & Qualifications
-3-4 years of similar experience
-Proven work experience as an Intermediate Designer
-Applicable portfolio with branding, print, web and motion graphic examples
-Completion of University/College in a Design or Visual focused program
-Great presentation and communication skills
-Be able to multi-task and work under pressure
-Experience with print production, dielines and paper handling
-Proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
-Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Media Encoder, Adobe XD, Premier is an asset
-Ability to hand render illustrations, sketches or typography is an asset
