WESLODGE is a modern saloon featuring a menu that is both rugged and refined, exploring North American fare with an international twist.The restaurant is open for dinner and late night. Weslodge is part of the ICONINK portfolio, a full service international hospitality and lifestyle brand which takes inspiration from global cuisine and culture.

Reporting to the Front of House management team, the Host is the first and last impression for our guests, and as such, their role is a vital one within the operation. The host is a personal representation of the service and overall brand experience. Whether guests are waiting to be seated, waiting for a take-out order, inquiring about the restaurant, or filing a complaint, it is the job of the hostess to ensure that the guests are felt welcome, kept comfortable, and are informed. The host should recognize repeat guests and address them by name. The host is responsible for setting the pace and flow of each service, as such they have a big impact on the overall success of the restaurant.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Exude a warm, friendly, and welcoming disposition to guests as they arrive; thank guests upon their departure from the venue
-Always be willing to help, assist, and direct guests within the venue and elsewhere
-Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables
-Estimate wait times for guests, monitor the guest waiting list, and ensure that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting
-Answer the telephone, book reservations and move tables together to accommodate large parties
-Understand all policies regarding reservations, timing, no-shows, payment
-Fully comprehend the venue layout, furniture configuration capabilities
-Communicate to Management and applicable service staff any special notes such as food allergy, special occasion, VIP status, to name a few
-Assist with other duties when necessary, such as peak service times
-Communicate with floor staff table statuses so as to maximize the number of diners accommodated in service, and direct bussers to help reset for next reservation

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

-High school diploma
-Certificate or degree/diploma in hospitality an asset
-1-2 years in similar premium high volume environment
-Experience with OpenTable an asset
-Excellent organization and time management skills
-Proactive anticipating guest needs
-Have a high attention to detail
-Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
-Able to work under pressure
-Able to work in a fast pace environment
-Team player
-Passion for hospitality
