Thindi is now open and brings authentic Indian street food to the World Food Market on 335 Yonge street. Indian style grilled-sandwiches are on the menu, with green chutney or grilled pineapple filling. “I used to love getting this as a snack, after school”, says the owner, Anuja Mehta who hails from Gujurat.
The quintessential Indian street-food item—Instant Maggi noodles—are also being served.
“Most Indians grew up eating our version of instant ramen, Maggi Noodles. They bring back nostalgic childhood memories for many of us.“
Other rustic and eclectic options include Indian mac and cheese, and an Indian style Arancini made from cilantro, chopped onions, noodles, with a cheesy filling.
