Provided patrons can still maintain two metres apart, restaurants may now allow more than 50% of their pre-COVID capacity.

British Columbia's Health Authority has revised their order limiting the number of restaurant patrons to "no more than 50 per cent of the usual capacity of patrons present at one time."
Additionally, the mandated two-metre distance between tables of patrons may be reduced provided that the patrons are of the same party. An exception may also be made to the two-metre rule if a 1.2 metre tall "washable, rigid, impermeable partition" is installed on the tabletop.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, the Provincial Health Officer, stated that the revision is the result of working with restaurant owners, health officers, inspectors and WorkSafeBC to define the best pathway forward.
