Job Description

Reporting to the President and working closely with the Senior Sales Coordinator, the Poultry Feed Sales Specialist will play a crucial role in driving sales and expanding our market share in the poultry feed sector. This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of poultry nutrition, the ability to build strong relationships with customers, and a keen sense of market dynamics. The successful candidate will work closely with our technical and product development teams to deliver tailored nutrition solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Our client is a CleanTech and manufacturing company with proven product lines based in Kamloops, BC. Their expertise lies in developing critical low-carbon and carbon sequestering solutions using our owned mineral assets and recycled materials to create planet-friendly products that fight climate change and protect our planet’s health. Their products are in 10,000+ retail stores across North America, and their innovations bring positive disruption to the cement, agricultural and animal-care sectors by creating products that help reduce carbon footprints and restore ecosystems.

This role can be done remote out of Alberta with 30%+ travel required.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies in collaboration with senior management to achieve sales targets in the poultry feed segment.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with poultry farmers, integrators, and distributors.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and understand the competitive landscape.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers on poultry nutrition and feed management best practices.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to inform new product innovations based on market needs and feedback.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and seminars to keep abreast of the latest developments in poultry nutrition and to network with potential clients.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management review.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Enter account data in customer relationship management (CRM) program.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales experience in the agricultural sector, preferably with a focus on organic or poultry-related health products.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of the poultry industry and understanding of the benefits of organic poultry bedding for animal health.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Able to meet physical demands including sitting and standing in offices and driving automobiles.
  • Valid driver’s license.
