Job Description

Core Responsibilities:


Responsible for the sale of the organization's products in Canada and inclusion of the company in new Approved Manufacture List (AML´s). Provides ongoing support to product distribution channel and maintain current customer relationships while developing new ones. Works closely with Xanik Global Sales Director and Mexico´s technical sales & engineering teams to provide constant customer feedback on current products and ideas for new products to foster innovative solutions for our customers’ needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote all Xanik products and company philosophies in a manner that is consistent with MEC management core values. “Take actions only where mutual benefit to both Xanik & the customer are expected. If the action is not anticipated to be good for both parties, then the action is not up to MEC / Xanik’s standards.”
  • Provide sales support to Xanik distributors and call on all Major End users with headquarters within Canada.
  • Act as a Business Development Manager to be promoted and registered on the Approved Manufacturer List (AML) with the various end user groups in Canada.
  • Work in conjunction with MEC / Xanik management to establish/maintain relationships with key customers, accounts to be determined by Xanik & Area Sales Manager and maybe adjusted from time to time as deemed necessary.
  • Will supply written summaries of each site visit to Xanik management weekly which will include company visited, contact names, topics of discussion, highlights, and commentary regarding new products or other company related subjects along with routine telephone communication to Xanik Global Sales Director and management about visits or other industry specific information (written summary due prior to the start of the next work week).
  • Will work in tandem with all Xanik distributors to educate, train, guide and generally strengthen their position with Distributors and End users or other key accounts– this will include assisting the distributor in any way deemed appropriate.
  • Attend all trade shows and other events to network and further establish relationships with all key industry players – assist with set-up, attending, and tear down of any show display materials if needed. A list of events will be mutually agreed upon by the Outside Sales Manager and Xanik Global Sales Director and may be subject to change from time to time as deemed necessary. See Appendix A.
  • Must become acutely aware of the Xanik product line and our “systems approach” toward benefits/features over other competitive models and be able to promote the product/organization to any/all current and/or potential customers or end users of Xanik products. Focus on Xanik product attributes rather than disparaging competitor products.
  • The Outside Sales Manager will visit the main Xanik production facility a minimum of twice annually to receive product training and to participate in strategic planning discussions – OSM must have short notice availability to attend Xanik management visits in Canada, scheduled visits shall be determined at a later date and as needed.
  • Must generate a general action plan for driving growth/opportunities with distributors, End users (AML inclusions), EPC´s, OEM´s and other key accounts for consideration and consensus with Xanik management.
  • Effectively communicate opportunities, problems, product improvements, and new product ideas with Xanik management.
  • Expected to travel as needed to facilitate the promotion/sale of Xanik products (approximately 2 weeks in Alberta and 2 weeks out on other provinces in a monthly basis).
  • The Outside Sales Manager must provide adequate in-home office space to conduct day-to-day business while not traveling for the company. A laptop computer and cellular phone service will be provided at no cost but is the responsibility of the team member to maintain and use appropriately.
  • All travel, lodging, food/drink necessary to facilitate the sale and/or promotion of Xanik products will be paid for by Xanik but is subject to review by management on a periodic basis.
  • The Outside Sales Manager shall use their own credit card for expenses relative to conducting their day-to-day job responsibilities of which he/she must submit sales receipts along with explanations where necessary on a weekly basis to the appropriate Xanik accounting representative for reimbursement.

Travel:

· Position requires individual to travel up to 75%.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed mostly out in the field. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate office equipment such as computer, engineering programs, and other office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell.

This position will be required to travel overnight to perform essential functions at remote locations. The position may be required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet deadlines and requirements. This requirement also requires the individual to fly and/or drive to customers’ facilities and attend trade shows.
