Job Description

They seek an Assistant General Manager responsible for providing an environment where guests can serve themselves in a thoughtful, intuitive manner. This includes everything from check-in and greeting to the vibe in the lobby, the drinks served at the bar, rockstar service delivery, the efficiency of check-out, and every step and interaction in between. Attracting local and out-of-town guests, this role builds relationships in the community and brings exciting events to the hotel. You will be a front-of-house operator who constructs a property atmosphere, so guests feel like they are seamlessly moving through the hotel rather than just checking in and out. You drive revenue through a distinctive approach to beverage and food offerings and promotions. You will use your passion for the brand, your personality, and your ability to draw a crowd of loyal followers to create unique guest experiences in a vibrant environment. You will be mingling, and creating a buzzy atmosphere in the hotel while working with the GM to maintain a smooth operation behind in the back of house. The salary is $70,000+ range.


DESCRIPTION

  • Provide direct assistance to the Hotel General Manager and have the ability to perform the GM's tasks in their absence
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the hotel front desk team, as well as assist in the management of the housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage departments.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to manage the room inventory to maximize revenue and actively participate in the revenue management process.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate with your team members and department heads.
  • The ability to manage the new hire process for all departments to include providing brand orientation, and hands-on training to the team members.
  • Create weekly schedules for the front desk, while staying within the financial parameters provided, as well as assist with other department scheduling.
  • Provide excellent customer service so that you anticipate the guest's needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Knowledge of the PMS system Fosse & POS Micros is strongly preferred; however, it is not required.
  • Must be able to work early afternoons, evenings, and weekends as the Director of Operations is required to be on duty when the GM is not present.
  • Participates in Revenue Management strategies with the General Manager.
  • Previous experience with Marriott systems is a plus.

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5-7 years in a cross-functional, hotel and hospitality management property, overseeing hotel, food and beverage and operations departments within a high volume environment, as the AGM, F&B or Rooms Division or other senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to attract, retain and build a large, (100+ employees) high-performing hospitality and operations team.
  • Post-secondary education in Hotel or Hospitality management is a preference.
