Job Description

The Watts Water Technologies family of companies designs and manufactures valves and drains and related products that promote the comfort and safety of people and the quality, conservation and control of water used in commercial, residential, industrial, and municipal applications. The Warehouse Supervisor will lead the warehouse functions. You will require a deep understanding of all tasks and systems related to Shipping, Receiving, Incoming Inspection, Material Handling, storage of components and products. They will be competent to manager safety, delivery accuracy, negotiate shipping rates and manage delivery schedules. You will oversee all relative regulatory waste disposal related to recycling and hazardous materials. You will be very physical, and hands on. You will collaboratively work with all departments to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and controls are maintained within the warehouse and subject to continuous improvement.

You Will:

  • Direct resources to ensure Shipping, Receiving, Inspection and Material handling functions are coordinated to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ensure the Warehouse work environment is always safe.
  • Provide vacation and surge capacity as required to ensure customer orders are shipped on time and inbound materials are received, inspected, and available for Manufacturing quickly.
  • Manage auditable records including but not limited to packing slips, pick lists, job close-out paperwork, warehouse safety audits, etc., ensuring documents are easily retrievable on demand.
  • Meet or exceed spend targets as it relates to variable and fixed costs for the warehouse facility via systems currently in place, and/or works with appropriate staff to establish new systems of measurement.
  • Ensure materials transfer oversight to other sites to include vendor issue resolution.
  • Establish and controls handling and storage plans and procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of Raw material storage including development of effective addressing systems, shelving and storage systems to ensure components are safe and easily accessible available.
  • Ensure metric achievement responsibility - processes & procedures implementation and actions to achieve all metrics.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of warehouse activities and warehouse personnel hours and continually reviews performance.
  • Maintain complete and accurate safety & hazmat records and complies with all appropriate standards.
  • Ensure the security and proper management of the warehouse equipment and materials received and stored.
  • Maintain maintenance compliance for equipment and moving equipment for proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Oversee receiving and verification freight against receiving documentation, noting discrepancies and/or damage and report findings.
  • Review and approves all related appropriate departmental vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance.
  • Track and provide management reporting on key metrics and meets all requisite metrics.
  • Follow safety regulations and hold monthly safety meetings for warehouse team members.
  • Streamline warehouse operating procedures by identifying and eliminating redundant processes.
  • Train warehouse and support staff
  • Coordinate assignment of Building maintenance tasks with team members and/or recommend and supervise appropriately approved contractors.
  • Lead warehousing improvements by coordinating team members, contributing ideas, leading and participating in improvement projects related to warehousing processes.
  • Develop and update any required documentation for all Shipping, Receiving and Material Handling processes.
  • Ensure all documentation is current and updated after any improvements.
  • Develop, collect, report and strive to achieve and exceed targets set to improve the efficiency and quality of the Warehouse.
  • Manage all aspects of freight carrier and courier relationships.
  • Negotiate and coordinate rates with all freight carriers (couriers, LTL, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the Order Desk, arrange for outbound / inbound freight pickups, including domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinate with the Order Desk, file any freight damage claims.
  • Approve all freight invoices for payment.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly 5S requirements for the role are completed as required.
  • Annually set and work towards individual goals and targets which align to those of Operations and the company.
  • Contribute ideas, lead and/or participate in improvement projects including but not limited to: Quick Kaizens, Kaizen events, VSM events, etc.
  • Have other duties as assigned.

You Have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field is an asset.
  • Inventory planning systems experience required.
  • Material planning related certification is considered a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • 7-10 years relevant warehouse experience
  • Previous supervision or management experience
  • 1-3 years' experience engaging and working with contractors

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job responsibilities outside the typical office setting.
