PROJECT MANAGER - HIGHWAYSTake your career to the next level with this exceptional Project Manager – Highway Maintenance opportunity. This role is with a reputable employer and will be ideally based in Regina, Saskatchewan.As the successful candidate, your Leadership and Project Management expertise will be supported by a progressive career in Highway maintenance/repair.As a key member of the Senior Management team, you will provide leadership and strong project management throughout all phases of highways maintenance/repair projects including planning, estimating, contract award/administration, resource/equipment planning and scheduling, construction inspection, issue resolution and project financials. In this position you will:Collaborate and work closely with the senior management team on highway projects including strategic planning, scheduling, cost estimating, proposal preparation and submission.Build strong working relationships with Highways representatives and stakeholders to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. Maintain and demonstrate strong technical and professional knowledge on highways maintenance and repair, i.e. chip seal, joint and crack sealing, surface repair, seal coating, equipment and asphalt/patching materials, traffic accommodation plans, etc.Provide contract management and administration of highway projects ensuring client specifications, deliverables, schedules and budgets are met.Create and monitor project schedules, materials and equipment resources and costs. Hire and coach qualified work crews, ensuring company procedures and safety policies are adhered to.Provide leadership and facilitation, negotiation and problem solving support as required to resolve issues, build consensus and align activities to accomplish project goals.Monitor and inspect equipment and materials to ensure client specifications are met.Conduct quality assurance to ensure compliance with project specifications. Monitor/assess performance of yourself, crew leaders/foreman, crews and other company workers to make improvements or take corrective action.Manage the project close out process to ensure accurate reports, project costs and documentation is in order.CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Related highways/paving/pavement repair training is essential. An engineering or technical diploma/degree is an asset but not required.Experience: Demonstrated leadership and project management skills. 10+ years of progressive leadership and highway maintenance/repair experience. Paving experience is a definite asset.Desired attributes:Strong senior leadership, project management, business acumen and financial skills.Self-starter with strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Excellent coaching, training and mentorship skills.Sound knowledge, understanding of and experience working with contracts and specifications.Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment involved in the construction/repair of highways (i.e. Chip Seal, etc.). Knowledge of traffic accommodation and management plans.Knowledge of various pavement repair designs and specifications and when to effectively apply various pavement repair design mixesCommitment to relevant policies, procedures and strategies to promote employee safety and optimum performance.The position includes travel to sites within Saskatchewan during the summer construction season, including overtime with occasional weekend work (not long weekends).Excellent remuneration package including management salary, comprehensive benefits and a great work team!
