About Us
Sunflower Cafe is a unique farm-to-table destination located directly on our own working commercial farm in Maple Ridge, BC. Our menu changes with the rhythm of the seasons, highlighting over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and flowers grown right outside our kitchen doors. We specialize in scratch-made, hyper-local culinary experiences, combining pristine farm-fresh harvests with advanced techniques like fermentation and koji-culturing.
If you want to cook with ingredients harvested hours—sometimes minutes—before service, this is your kitchen.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Cook who is passionate about local agriculture and seasonal cooking. In this role, you will work closely with a dedicated team to prep and execute a fast-paced, high-quality menu in a collaborative and professional environment.
What You’ll Do
Prep and execute menu items with precision, consistency, and speed during busy daytime and weekend services.
Work directly with pristine, ultra-seasonal produce coming straight from our farm fields.
Assist in processing bumper crops, preserving gluts, and working with fermentations.
Maintain an immaculate, organized, and safe kitchen station.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 1–2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume, scratch kitchen.
Passion: A genuine love for farm-to-table cooking and a respect for raw ingredients.
Skills: Strong knife skills, efficient prep habits, and the ability to keep cool under pressure.
Logistics: Valid FoodSafe Level 1 and reliable transportation (as we are located on a working farm in Maple Ridge).

At Sunflower Cafe we work together as chef and gardener to grow, raise and prepare over 260 varieties of certified organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers, as well as pastured, free range humanely treated animals.
