We are looking for a Sous Chef — Kitchen Operations & Culinary Development to join our culinary leadership team and help shape the future of Verdicchio.

The Opportunity
Working closely with ownership and our culinary leadership team, the Sous Chef — Kitchen Operations & Culinary Development will play a key role in the daily operation and continued evolution of our kitchen.
This position will support service execution, kitchen organization, food quality, team development, inventory systems, and culinary standards across Verdicchio Ristorante & Enoteca and 1351 Kitchens.
The ideal candidate understands that exceptional food comes from more than creativity — it comes from consistency, organization, discipline, and a strong team culture.
Responsibilities
Lead Kitchen Operations
- Support daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Organize prep priorities and kitchen workflow
- Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and execution
- Support station organization and kitchen standards
- Lead by example during service
- Assist in maintaining a calm, organized, and professional kitchen environment
Develop Kitchen Systems & Standards
- Assist in creating and maintaining kitchen procedures
- Support prep lists, production schedules, and daily organization
- Participate in inventory management and ordering
- Monitor food quality, waste, and efficiency
- Help build systems that allow the kitchen to grow sustainably
Mentor & Develop Our Culinary Team
- Train, coach, and support kitchen team members
- Help create a culture of accountability, pride, and teamwork
- Encourage growth and skill development within the kitchen
- Assist in developing future culinary leaders
Support Culinary Development
Work alongside ownership and the culinary team on:
- Seasonal menu development
- Italian culinary techniques and traditions
- Handmade pasta production
- Catering and event menus
- 1351 Kitchens product development
- Improving consistency across all culinary offerings
The Person We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Has experience as a Sous Chef or senior culinary leader
- Takes pride in organization, consistency, and attention to detail
- Understands that leadership is about developing people
- Has a passion for Italian cuisine and traditional techniques
- Enjoys balancing creativity with strong culinary systems
- Wants to contribute ideas and take ownership
- Is looking for a long-term opportunity within a growing hospitality group
Experience in fine dining, Italian cuisine, handmade pasta, or production kitchens is considered an asset.

Compensation
$60,000–$75,000 annually based on experience
