The Production Cook plays a key role in supporting the culinary operations at Sea to Sky Gondola by executing high-volume food preparation and production that services multiple outlets, including Back Yard Bites, Sky Pilot Smokehouse, and Ocean View Grill. Reporting to the Restaurant Chef or Sous Chef, this position focuses on consistency, efficiency, and quality in all prep and production tasks, ensuring that all kitchens are set up for service success.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Execute daily food preparation and production tasks according to established recipes, standards, and prep lists.
• Support multiple outlets by preparing proteins, sauces, sides, and other core components for service.
• Ensure consistency in product quality, portioning, and presentation across all menu items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including proper labeling, dating, and storage.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and organizing deliveries to ensure product quality and accuracy.
• Practice proper stock rotation (FIFO) and contribute to minimizing food waste.
• Communicate effectively with chefs and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist in maintaining accurate prep levels to meet service demands across multiple outlets.
• Support the kitchen team during peak periods with basic cooking and plating as required.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a kitchen or food production environment.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions with precision and consistency.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Safe Level 1 preferred).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
