Experienced Host (Weekend Availability)
Position Overview:
The Host at Irene plays a key role in creating a warm, confident first impression while helping manage the flow of service from the front door to the dining room. This position requires prior hosting experience, strong communication skills, and confidence in using OpenTable to accurately manage reservations, walk-ins, guest notes, and table placement.
This role bridges front-door hospitality and floor support, helping to maintain organization, pacing, and a positive guest experience during both steady and high-volume service.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet every guest promptly with warmth, confidence, and professionalism
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and guest notes using OpenTable
• Seat guests strategically while balancing server sections, kitchen pacing, and overall service flow
• Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, support staff, and management
• Maintain an organized, clean, and presentable host stand
• Reset and prepare tables quickly and accurately when needed
• Support with the light running of food or beverages when required
• Help maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the dining room
• Monitor guest needs and alert servers or management proactively
Standards & Expectations
• Previous hosting experience in a restaurant setting is required
• Strong OpenTable proficiency is required
• Excellent awareness of floor flow, pacing, and service timing
• Polished appearance and professional communication
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and composed during peak service
• Team-first mindset with a willingness to step in wherever needed
• Strong attention to detail with reservations, guest notes, seating plans, and table placement
