Casa Loma are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring that clean supplies are available for food preparation and service while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using dishwashing equipment or by hand.
- Ensure all items are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, and kitchen areas.
- Remove trash and recycling and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors as needed.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries.
- Clean kitchen equipment, shelves, walls, and storage areas according to sanitation standards.
- Monitor dishwashing chemicals and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Support kitchen staff with basic cleaning and organizational tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Manual dexterity to safely handle dishes, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and food safety practices.
- Experience operating commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy service periods.
