Pastry Chef with Lamination Skills

📍 Location: Downtown Toronto

💰 Salary: $21–$23/hour + tips (depending on experience)

About Rayah

Rayah is a French-Moroccan café, restaurant and pastry shop where everything is made from scratch. We bake our own bread, croissants, viennoiseries and pastries daily. We do not use frozen or industrially prepared products.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position.

  • Strong knowledge of classic French pastry fundamentals.

  • Must be able to laminate dough and produce croissants independently.

  • Experience with pâte Ă  choux, pâte sucrĂ©e, pâte sablĂ©e, pastry cream, diplomat cream, crème brĂ»lĂ©e, flans and gâteaux de voyage.

  • Punctual, organized and detail-oriented.

  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

  • Available on weekends and for shifts starting at 6:00 AM.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • Professional references required.

This Position Is Not for You If...

  • You cannot laminate dough or make croissants from scratch.

  • You do not have solid French pastry fundamentals.

  • Your experience is limited to industrial bakeries where the job mainly consisted of mixing pre-mixes with water or baking pre-made products.

We're looking for real pastry chefs who know how to make everything from scratch.
