We are currently looking for PASTRY COOKS to join our dynamic team at RILEY'S FISH & STEAK. Michelin Recommended Riley’s Fish + Steak brings a new fish-and-chophouse dining experience to the heart of downtown Vancouver’s waterfront. The latest high-profile project for the Glowbal Restaurant Group — which also owns and operates such local hotspots as its flagship Glowbal, Coast, Italian Kitchen, Black + Blue and The Roof, Five Sails, and Trattoria by Italian Kitchen — Riley’s showcases the very best of the Pacific Northwest’s farms, oceans and pastures via a menu of classics, signature dishes and sides. Riley’s gives locals and visitors alike an authentic and entertaining experience in an expansive space with a garden patio, oyster bar and live music nightly.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for creating and preparing confectionery and other pastry-based items in accordance with existing menu
- Inspect the quality of ingredients and accurately measure them for specific recipes
- Execute pastry orders as per spec and garnishing requirements
- Ensure compliance with food handling safety regulation, health and safety workplace policies and procedures
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 year professional baking and pastry experience in casual fine dining or higher
- Completion of related pastry culinary program, is an asset
- Food Safe certification, or wiling to train
- Energetic with a passion for everything “sweet” and a positive outlook
- Creative ability in design and decorating
- Workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Excellent team player and camaraderie with others
- Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Organizational Skills and team player
