Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The 1st Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. The 1st Cook must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. The 1st Cook must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment. WAGE: $23.03 /hour to start RESPONSIBILTIES: • Cooks on pans & grill; banquets when needed • Ability to train others in hot appetizers • Excellent communication with pass, through Chef and Managers • Operates & cleans stoves, ovens & grills • Always follows recipes and specifications. • Is able to champion the Syllabus to other cooks • Perfectly grills and cooks meats, steaks, chops and seafood • Perfectly grills, roasts and cooks poultry • Keen eye for detail with the ability of perfecting plating • Can judge food by appearance, texture and finish QUALIFICATIONS: • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification – Journeyman Cook • Has a friendly, outgoing personality along with excellent personal presentation • Ability to complete assigned tasks with the highest levels of enthusiasm • Be an excellent team players with clear and concise communication skills • 3 years high volume restaurant experience • Secondary School graduate • Culinary School an asset • Must hold valid work authorization for Canada at the time of applying COMPETENCIES: • Strong passion for cooking and producing high quality food • Personal Accountability – known for getting the job done, being punctual and reliable • Strong guest focus – exceptional customer service skills, maintains professionalism with members and peers • Excellent communication skills – strong English communication skills both verbal and written • Self driven – strong work ethic and takes pride in their work • Team focused – collaborates and communicates with peers positively If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please submit your application.
