Joe Fortes Whistler plans to open in early 2020, taking over the space vacated by Trattoria Di Umberto.

Joe Fortes, one of Vancouver's most popular upscale-dining restaurants is planning to open a second location in central Whistler village. Set to celebrate it's 35th anniversary, the restaurant famous for its rooftop patio, fresh seafood, steaks and stellar service, will be taking over Trattoria Di Umberto's location at 4417 Sundial Place. The move comes as a bit of surprise for Whistler residents, who were anticipating the re-opening of Trattoria Di Umberto after a two year long renovation to the restaurant. However, a message from Umberto that was posted on Trattoria's website revealed that just before the renovated restaurant was set to open its doors, they received an offer to sell that they couldn't refuse. Trattoria Di Umberto had been one of the top fine-dining restaurants in Whistler for over 30 years. Joe Fortes Whistler is hiring for all positions and will be hosting a Hiring Fair at the new restaurant December 10th - 12th, from 10am-4pm at 4417 Sundial Place, Whistler.
