Fabulous co-workers and a fun, supportive environment. Management were great with flexibility of schedules. Loved the customers here too! Only down side was the large server tip-out, made it difficult to make good money unless you were extremely busy. Sad that it's now closed, I enjoyed my time there very much.

I worked there for over a year and advanced from host to server/bartender. The restaurant is small, so fairly easy to manage when it was properly staffed. There was a lot of turnover in management though, which made it an inconsistent place to work. Everyone was fairly kind, but it was definitely disorganized at times.

I am working in burgoo downtown as a line cook. Working in burgoo gave me more confidence to work on line. Great opportunity to learn from supportive co-workers and they have excellent FOH management.
Really flexible schedules. If you are hunting for job with more opportunities to build your carrier as line cook or you want to work as FOH burgoo is for you.

Owners are never at the restaurant and make changes/policies based on other locations without thinking about whether those policies are best for the North Vancouver location.
Extremely high staff turnover, including management means turmoil and lack of continuity in work culture and environment.

Burgoo point grey was amazing for me because they were so welcoming the environment was warm and everyone supported each other there, I unfortunately had to leave since I moved elsewhere however I would definitely recommend this job to someone who's starting new in the restaurant industry or even someone who is already experienced and wants a more comforting environment the pay is also very good.
