Tasty Indian Bistro can be a fun place to work, your coworkers are the best part about the place. Management is pretty flexible about time-off with a week or two notice. The restaurant recently has suffered from big growth in competition from newly-launched, upscale Indian restaurants in the Downtown area however I would say is still the leader in terms of food quality. Things move slow there for quite a small restaurant, changes take time, the schedule generally comes out one day before a new week and base wage is regularly paid 2-4 days late.

I had a great experience working at Tasty Indian Bistro. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and I really enjoyed the team I worked with—my co-workers were friendly, supportive, and made every shift more enjoyable. The work environment was generally chill, with enough structure to stay organised but not overly strict, which gave space to be yourself while still being professional.

At the time, I did notice some challenges with management that felt a bit biased, but it didn’t take away from the overall positive vibe of the restaurant. The General Manager, in particular, was fantastic—approachable, respectful, and always kept things running smoothly.

Overall, a fun place to work with great people, especially if you thrive in a fast-paced and upbeat hospitality setting

Heather is a great manager - I had fun working at Tasty. Tips were varied - sometimes fantastic, sometimes not great. Good flexibility on shifts, reasonable hours.

This place is very busy all the time and so it's never boring.

You can make money but you definitely work so it's a good place to build your experience in the industry.

Good for students as management is supportive of your schedule.
