Front of House Floor Leader & Manager in Training
Title: Floor Leader
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary
The Floor Leader is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations during service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong team performance, and smooth service flow. This role acts as the primary support for staff on the floor, leading by example and maintaining operational standards.
Key Responsibilties:
Leadership & Team Support

Lead by example in professionalism, service standards, and work ethic

Support servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff during service

Provide coaching, guidance, and real-time feedback to team members
-
Assist with training and onboarding new staff

Help resolve team conflicts in a professional and timely manner

Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture
Guest Experience

Ensure every guest receives friendly, timely, and professional service

Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly and effectively

Support staff in managing challenging guest situations

Engage with guests to build relationships and enhance the guest experience

Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction throughout shifts

Communicate gaps in training & provide tangible solutions for continuing to elevate our guest experience
Operations & Service Flow

Manage the flow of service during peak and off-peak periods
-
Monitor section pacing and workload balance
-
Support hosts with seating plans and waitlist management
-
Assist with food running, beverage service, and table support as needed
-
Ensure service standards and timing expectations are met
-
Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams
Standards & Compliance

Ensure cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas

Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards

Maintain company policies and service standards
-
Ensure proper uniform and grooming standards are followed

Monitor side duties and shift responsibilities
Administrative Support

Assist with shift checklists and daily operational tasks

Support inventory counts and supply organization as needed
-
Provide shift feedback and report operational issues to management

Assist with opening and closing duties
Qualifications
-
Previous restaurant experience (typically 2–5 years preferred)

Experience as a server or bartender required

Strong leadership and communication skills

Ability to remain calm under pressure
