Koi is a high-end Japanese restaurant opening at River Rock Casino, set along the banks of the Fraser River with breathtaking views of Vancouver and the North Shore Mountains.
We are building our opening team and are seeking experienced, polished, and service-driven Fine Dining Servers who are passionate about Japanese cuisine and elevated hospitality.
At Koi, we are committed to delivering an authentic high-end Japanese dining experience at the highest Fine Dining standards. We source only the finest ingredients — premium seafood flown in fresh daily, A5-grade Japanese Wagyu, and the best seasonal local produce. Every dish is crafted with precision and artistry, from signature Aburi-style sushi to delicate sashimi and charcoal-grilled specialties.
Position Overview
As a Server at Koi, you are more than an order taker — you are a curator of the guest experience. You guide guests through our menu with confidence, knowledge, and refined service etiquette.
You understand pacing, sequence of service, and the importance of anticipation. Your presence is professional, composed, and attentive without being intrusive.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and explain menu items with confidence and sophistication
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, seafood, sake, wine, and cocktails
- Guide guests through tasting experiences and pairing recommendations
- Anticipate guest needs and maintain impeccable table standards
- Execute full Fine Dining sequence of service with precision
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and mise en place
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team
- Ensure responsible alcohol service at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years of serving experience, preferably in Fine Dining or upscale restaurant environments
- Strong understanding of Fine Dining etiquette and service standards
- Serving It Right certified
- Wine, sake, or WSET certification considered a strong asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Positive, professional, and polished demeanor
- Open availability (Full-time / Part-time available)
Eligibility
Applicants must provide:
- Valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Work Permit)
