The Bar Manager is a crucial role in the operations of The Lamplighter Public House. With the sheer amount of Liquor, Beer and Wine sold each week including the many different facets of the bar (late night, cocktail program and aggressive happy hour), the role will continue to be an essential position within the venue.
It is a learning role meant to prepare the employee for advancement within the bar & company. A successful Bar Manager will have a passion for not only product and service, but also be a team leader and have an overall passion for our industry.
The position is primarily working the bar, cost & inventory controls with some bar program development and general bar needs.
-All liquor ordering and receiving
-Inventory management and bar organization
-Bar cleanliness and environment cleanliness
-MOD duties & coverage where needed
-Lead the bar team by demonstrating excellent product knowledge
There are certain shifts that are required to be worked by the Bar Manager. Other shifts are based on the bar’s needs to get maximum value out of the position for both the venue and the Bar Manager.
-Promote bartender sales & amazing service across the bar
-Recruiting potential servers and bartenders based on schedule needs
Housed in the historic Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown, this pub was renovated in 2007 and has retained its original tin-stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied room has been given a grand renovation, including a new sound system and jukebox, classic pub furniture and a big screen TV.
