Restaurant Manager Full Time

Marutama Food Services Ltd. (dba Onigiri Ya) is seeking a Restaurant Manager for our Broadway location.

Permanent, Full-time; 30-40 hours per week, $37.00/per hour, plus bonus available based on sales performance.  Extended healthcare benefits are optional.

Standard 6–8-hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 7am and 5pm as required.

Duties:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced Japanese grab-and-go food service establishment specializing in onigiri, bento boxes, and other prepared foods;
• Coordinate food preparation planning to ensure sufficient availability of freshly prepared onigiri, bento boxes, and other menu items;
• Manage staff schedules, assign duties, and ensure adequate staffing during busy periods;
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, occupational health and safety, and public health regulations;
• Monitor staff performance and maintain service standards;
• Work with suppliers to arrange deliveries and ensure the availability of quality ingredients and products;
• Track sales, labour costs, and inventory usage, and help control operating expenses;
• Handle customer concerns and resolve complaints in a professional and timely manner;
• Hire and train staffs.
• Oversee handling and daily sales reporting.

Qualifications:

• Secondary school completion is required;
• A college diploma or university degree in a hospitality industry program is an asset;
• Minimum 3-5 years of previous food service industry experience is required;
• Previous management or supervisory experience is an asset;
• English language ability is required.
• Japanese language ability is an asset;
