Sadly management values have become extremely superficial in the past year or so. Not a healthy work environment anymore and most employees are very frustrated and it's visible.

Working at earls Yaletown started off great. The whole company has taken a very corporate turn though and is unfortunately not the same anymore. The expectations for the earning potential here is just not at eye level and you can make way more money anywhere else in fine dining than earls. The problem is the expectations are that of fine dining but the tip out for servers is insane and overall just not worth it. I see earls going downhill in the next couple years since they won’t be able to maintain their “vibe” without the front of house staff that made it what it is.

Decent place to work, great people

Good place to work. I wasn't in the best head space while I was working there so I don't believe I took full advantage of what was laying in front of me at times. Great people, great atmosphere but at the time the hours sucked.

Great company with a ton of growth opportunities. You must be receptive to feedback if you want to work here. The hours are decent and management seemed to care about staff. The only con would be a higher base wage for management.

If you're a controller there's a lot more responsibility with the same hourly wage as seaters.
