The Position

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about delivering anticipatory guest service.

The right fit for this role should have senior management experience working in an elevated service restaurant. You have experience in leading and developing teams, driving guest satisfaction and achieving outstanding operating results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all aspects of the front of house food and beverage offerings meet the company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Manages, contributes and applies strategies to improve processes, standards, customer service and team morale.
  • Manages the front of house food and beverage team by leading, training, mentoring, evaluating, and providing recognition of accomplishments and corrective feedback as appropriate. Develops and supervises staff to achieve high levels of performance and customer service.
  • Ensures food and beverage initiatives, are coordinated with back of house leadership, head office food and beverage initiatives and casino staff.
  • Liaises with the site management team to ensure that a high level of effective communication is supported and participates in site initiatives.
  • Contributes to the service standards, develop department budget, undertakes corrective action, ensures scheduling and expenditures are controlled within budgetary parameters. 
  • Maintain asset management program.
  • Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies and procedures, provincial and local regulations for food and beverage operations. Liaises with government regulators that impact the operation of the department. 
  • Undertakes statistical analysis and prepares reports. Monitors and processes invoices and expenditures and ensures appropriate inventory is maintained.
  • Oversees the human resources issues, performance, safety and recruitment needs of the department. Manages the performance of direct reports including: training, appraising performance, providing positive and corrective feedback, coaching, and administering discipline. Holds meetings with staff and their representatives (as applicable) and communicates issues, concerns, and feedback to management.


What You’ll Require

  • Minimum 2-3 years senior management experience working in an elevated service restaurant
  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality or a related field
  • A professionally recognized wine and/or spirits certificate is an asset
  • Superhost training is an asset
  • Culinary experience is an asset
  • Tea master certification is an asset
  • Additional language is an asset
  • Hospitality instructor background is an asset
  • Provincial “Serving it Right” or “ProServe” and “Food Safe” certificates required
  • Extensive restaurant operation and food and beverage knowledge
  • Wine, liqueur, beer, tea and culinary knowledge
  • Passion for excellence in customer service and the ability to lead by example
  • Understanding of budgets and COGS labour costs
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements
  • Basic understanding of marketing principals
  • Knowledge about food safety requirements
  • Knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures for food and beverage operations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships
  • Inquisitive, initiative and deliberate leadership style with high emotional intelligence 
  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Must have passion for delivering anticipatory guest service
  • Solid decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities (organization and prioritization skills)
  • Skilled at developing and creating food and beverage experiences that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, point of sale, presentation and inventory software
