Our valued client, a key midstream Oil & Gas client are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Pipeline Integrity Construction) to join their Calgary team on a long-term contract basis.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and executing pipeline integrity construction projects for our midstream Oil & Gas operations. The primary focus of the role will be on managing projects related to pipeline digs, in-line inspections (ILIs), and watercourse remediations. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional engineer with extensive experience in the midstream sector and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Lead the execution of pipeline integrity construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Stakeholder Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and other external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate regular communication and project updates to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations.
Contract Management:
• Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers.
• Monitor contract performance and enforce compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and safety incidents.
• Implement robust health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols to mitigate project-related risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):
• Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of pipeline construction activities.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare regular progress reports, financial forecasts, and other project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project records, including change orders, RFIs, and as-built drawings, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Professional Engineer designation required), preferably in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in project management within the midstream Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on pipeline integrity construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of pipeline construction, integrity management, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. , API, ASME, CSA).
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
