Job Description

Located at the Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport, the Gulfstream Restaurant is looking for a full-time Prep Cook to work variable shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays. We are located directly across the highway from the Kelowna International Airport, with convenient transit access just down the street!

If you don't mind variety and are able to work a flexible schedule which includes mornings, weekdays, and weekends, please submit your resume today! We are on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel. We also pickup our employees from the bus loop at UBCO!

OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Executive Chef, our Prep Cooks/Stewards execute general cleaning duties and provide support for various tasks in the Kitchen.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
Inform Executive Chef of any problems, or supplies that need to be ordered
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, weighing and cutting of meat and storing food
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
Set-up and break down work station
Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Must be able to stand for and work on your feet for a full day
Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
Must be available to work evening shifts, holidays and weekends. Start times will vary based on business volumes and operational demands
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. The Four Points is unable to support any VISA applications.
