50th Parallel Estate Winery invites you to join their acclaimed hospitality family in a leadership role which oversees the entire Food and Beverage program of the Estate. From private VIP curated wine and culinary experiences to large corporate functions, the Food and Beverage Director will be responsible for ensuring that the world class guest experience is underpinned by warm and welcoming hospitality at every turn.

Role Description and Requirements

The Food and Beverage Director will have a minimum five years of experience managing a high-quality and high-volume event style food and beverage service execution, as well as having extensive experience managing fine dining restaurant service execution. The position includes overseeing a well established and industry leading restaurant hospitality team at the winery restaurant, BLOCK ONE, as well as detailed hands on management of the winery special event hospitality team. The role will also require that the successful candidate will be able to work in parallel and in partnership with the acclaimed winemaker, winery executive chef, tasting room wine educators, and our high-performance culinary team. 50th Parallel Estate Winery is well known for its exceptional world class wine, food, and event service execution. The successful candidate must have an excellent ability to handle high profile customers under pressure and with an extremely high level of hospitality and professionalism.

The Food and Beverage Director will be responsible for start to finish management and execution of all winery events from ensuring impeccable and detailed set up of function rooms and service areas, to assisting in the hiring, training, supervising, and performance management of the staff. The Food and Beverage Director role requires a hands-on approach while ensuring the restaurant and events teams are meeting all 50th Parallel Estate Hospitality and experience standards throughout the various Estate venues.
The role will report directly to the proprietors of the Estate. The role will require management of a team of 50 people or more during the peak of the hospitality and tourism season.

Skill Set

We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. This role has direct involvement with guests and excellent communication skills are required. By nature of this position, the Food and Beverage Director requires a high level of physical mobility and stamina. A positive attitude and a can-do approach to any task are required and the candidate must be ready to do any role when needed. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.

We are looking for a talented individual who has a solid and seasoned knowledge of event/restaurant functions, exemplary hospitality service delivery and one who is passionate about the wine and hospitality industry. The successful candidate will work alongside the proprietors of the Estate to develop their management skills within the quickly growing 5oth Parallel Estate Winery and the British Columbia wine industry.

• Applicants are required to have a minimum of five years experience specifically in event service management and in restaurant management.
• Hospitality education is preferable, however, not essential if applicants have previous relevant work experience.
• Excellent communication skills for both guest and management interaction.
• Exceptional and refined, high-level hospitality service and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

The Food and Beverage Director role is a year-round salary position. Salary and benefits will vary depending on the experience of the successful applicant.

• Salary between $70,000-$80,000 per year
