Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our manufacturing team near London, Ontario. As a member of the leadership team you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of our custom products, leading a team of skilled engineers, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.


KEY RESPONSIBLITIIES:

  • Develop the Engineering Department's long-term strategy and goals, including developing performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Lead new product development from cradle to grave ensuring the end product meets all customer needs
  • Ensure the team are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Define/drive project timelines, set priorities, and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines and deliverables
  • Ability to develop deep understanding of customers and their needs, incorporates this into departmental strategy, products
  • Work in collaboration with business development to execute on the product development roadmap
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Make informed technical decisions, staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging technology
  • Collaborate with business development to execute the product development roadmap
  • Recommend, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards to improve all aspects of flow
  • Encourage and support innovative thinking and problem-solving within the engineering team
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback via 1-on-1’s and lead the professional development of team members


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 7- 10 years management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget, takes ownership and drives initiatives
  • In-depth knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, robotics, and control systems, advanced product development leadership skills
  • Demonstrates complex analytical and conceptual thinking, data driven tream player
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
  • Experience in scheduling and capacity planning within an engineering environment
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an open and engaging approach that motivates people
  • High level communication skills, adept at speaking with team members at all levels
