Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to lead our IT department. The IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization's technology infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems, and providing strategic direction for future IT initiatives including but not limited to hardware, software, networks and security. This role requires a hands-on, strategic thinker with technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT services to our organization.


What specifically?


Strategic Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify and evaluate current technology systems and seek opportunities for technological advancements to improve efficiency and productivity.


System Administration: Oversee the administration and maintenance of servers, databases, networks, cloud services and other critical IT systems. Ensure systems are operating efficiently and securely to support business operations.


Network Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect our network, systems, and data from cyber threats. Monitor for security breaches, conduct regular vulnerability assessments, develop incident response plans and proactively address vulnerabilities to minimize risks. Stay informed about emerging security risks and compliance requirements and develop policies and procedures to mitigate risks and compliance with relevant regulations.


Project Management: Manage IT projects from initiation to completion, including system upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure expansions. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.


Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants. Negotiate contracts, review service level agreements, and ensure that vendors deliver high-quality services and solutions that meet our organization's needs.


User Support: Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems, and providing training and documentation as needed. Ensure that IT support services are delivered promptly and professionally to minimize downtime and disruption.


Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards related to IT security, data privacy, and technology usage. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and proactively implement measures to maintain compliance.


Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT department budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking expenditures, and optimizing resource allocation to maximize ROI. Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.


What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in IT management roles, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of IT system administration, network management, infrastructure, and emerging technologies. Experience with cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco products including Firewalls and Switch is essential. Cisco certifications are considered an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working within Microsoft environments. We use a hybrid setup that includes local Servers that are setup in a Cluster environment, and an Azure Cloud environment with Microsoft Entra and production Servers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
