Job Description

Armani Exchange Retail Division

As a leader of visual merchandising for the assigned region you will be accountable for supporting the team to drive sales, you will be empowered to influence a diverse and strong team, who you will lead, inspire, and motivate. As a leader, you will partner to build a strong organization and ensure all businesses visually respect our brands standards. Your ability to combine your visual merchandising expertise, passion for the brands and knowledge of the luxury/retail business will be key in driving results. Your strong strategic and thought leadership skills will define the success of the Canadian businesses.

As the Regional Manager you will be responsible for the visual representation of all brands in the assigned doors according to global brand standards and partner with the retail and outlet management team to build and maintain visual presentation capabilities within the team. In addition, you will be accountable for ensuring appropriate communications are cascaded throughout your assigned region.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a business-oriented merchandiser who recognizes the changing market dynamics and will contribute to Armani's overall strategy in a collaborative way with the other members of the Canadian team. You will be responsible for cultivating business development plans, merchandising, and partnering on local strategies to increase our sales. You are willing to lead by example, be intellectually curious, strategic and be skilled at influencing others. Your strength in thought leadership, change management and leading a team through ambiguity will be key to your success.

Expectations

  • Autonomous Leadership: Lead visual merchandising efforts across multiple stores within the region, demonstrating a high degree of self-direction and the ability to make decisions independently to drive store performance and aesthetics.
  • Proactive Innovation: Continuously identify and act on opportunities for visual merchandising innovation and improvement without direct oversight, including staying ahead of industry trends and applying best practices across all locations.
  • Goal-Oriented Strategy Development: Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies that align with company goals, showing initiative in setting objectives, measuring performance, and adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve targets.
  • Self-Motivated Problem Solving: Display a strong capacity for self-motivated problem solving, anticipating challenges, and implementing creative solutions to maintain and elevate visual standards and store performance.
  • Independent Project Management: Manage visual merchandising projects from concept to completion across the region, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and deliver projects on schedule without close supervision.
  • Adaptive Learning and Development: Take personal responsibility for continuous learning and development in visual merchandising techniques, tools, and technologies, applying new knowledge proactively to enhance store presentation and the customer experience.
  • Self-Driven Team Collaboration and Coaching: Work collaboratively with store managers and teams, coaching and motivating them to achieve excellence in visual standards, while demonstrating self-drive in initiating and leading these efforts.
  • Performance Accountability: Hold oneself accountable for the visual presentation of all stores within the region, regularly assessing and reporting on performance with a self-driven approach to meeting and exceeding company standards.
  • Strategic Travel Planning: Strategically plan and schedule visits to the four retail stores located throughout Canada, ensuring effective coverage and support while optimizing the use of the allotted yearly travel budget for maximum impact on visual merchandising standards and store performance

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum Five (5+) years of experience in similar visual merchandising strategic leadership role
  • Post-Secondary degree preferred
  • Experience with strategic planning, visual presentation & merchandising strategies
  • Established strong network in the Canadian retail community
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and the ability to influence partners and lead team(s) across Canada
  • Demonstrated experience in presentations
  • Proficiency with Retail Systems and Office programs, i.e. SAP, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • While not required, Italian, French, or other language skills are considered a strong asset
  • Ability to travel when required, both domestic and international, including driving with use of personal vehicle
