Position Overview:

As Sous Chef at TAPS Public House, you’ll be a core leader on our culinary team. You’ll work closely with our Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations, consistent execution, and a food experience that keeps our guests coming back. This role is ideal for a confident, experienced chef who loves mentoring a team, maintaining high standards, and bringing creative energy into a collaborative space.

What You’ll Do:
Lead the Line: Support the Head Chef in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, leading by example during service.
Cook with Consistency: Ensure dishes are prepped, cooked, and plated to spec, maintaining quality and timing—even when it’s slammed.
Train the Team: Mentor and support cooks and junior staff, helping them grow while keeping standards sharp.
Own the Details: Maintain high food quality, cleanliness, and organization throughout all kitchen areas.
Keep it Running: Assist with inventory management, prep planning, and minimizing food waste.
Follow the Rules: Ensure all health, safety, and food handling procedures are followed to the letter.
Stay Cool Under Pressure: Tackle challenges during busy shifts with a calm, problem-solving mindset.

What You Bring:
3+ years of experience in a busy, high-volume kitchen (pub or casual dining a plus)
Proven leadership experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
Solid understanding of kitchen equipment, systems, and prep standards
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay level-headed during high-energy service
A hands-on, team-first attitude with a commitment to quality
