We are hiring Sous Chefs, Wildlight Kitchen + Bar at our location in Vancouver, BC near the UBC area.
You will be responsible for:
Preparing, cooking and presenting food in accordance with productivity standards, cost controls and forecast needs.
Participating in activities of chefs, cooks and other personnel.
Supporting the Executive Chef in ensuring operational standards are met including proper scheduling, quality standards, inventory and shrink control, equipment maintenance, sanitation, food safety and health & safety.
Supporting with team member relations including training, supervising, coaching & mentoring, and performance management.
Being an inspirational leader and developer of talent, providing feedback and recognition.
Fostering a positive environment in which all team members have the ability to maximize their potential.
Effectively partnering with the restaurant staff and front of house managers.
Assisting the Executive Chef in estimating annual food budget.
Conducting meetings, menu briefings and maintaining communication lines between the line staff and Executive Chef.
You have:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale, high volume restaurant operation with extensive culinary skills.
A Food Safe Certificate.
Experience with food cost management, forecasting, budgeting, labour management and purchasing.
Knowledge of current culinary trends, food products, standard recipes and proper presentation.
Proficiency with computers and applications including POS systems (considered an asset).
Culinary education (considered an asset).
Fine dining experience (considered an asset).

Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Detail oriented with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
