The Position
Are you a passionate, creative and fun Pastry Chef, if you are then we have the job for you! Come and be part of an amazing team of culinary professionals here at Casino Rama.Executive Chef John Cordeaux and his culinary leadership team are looking for a talented colleague to join an already outstanding team. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for leading a multifaceted pastry team and will have a high quality volume background, Casino, or hotel lines. Our pastry shop is fully equipped for the requirements of a passionate and experienced Pastry Chef. We have 10 revenue generating outlets averaging a service of 35,000 covers a week. We have a staff restaurant and three staff lounges and three player complimentary lounges averaging 15,000 covers a week. A total of approximately 50,000 covers a week. We also have a banquet service department with 8 meeting rooms from 60-450 in addition to an Entertainment Center which features world renowned acts and has a seating capacity of 5,000.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of cookies, pies and cakes and be able to maintain the levels of production and guest expectations in the absence of the Pastry Chef.
Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
Operate a variety of kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform tasks to ensure an attractive and safe physical appearance of working areas including cleaning and sanitizing all areas.
Ensure supplies and products are stocked as needed including ensuring that supplies are stocked for the next shift.
Follow company procedures for preparing recipes and products.
Safe and efficient use of all kitchen equipment.
What You’ll Require
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a reputable company.
Proven ability to work in a large production kitchen.
Post-secondary education in a culinary related discipline.
Red Seal Certificate Required.
Possess a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
