The Gateway to Your Future The Human Resources Manager position calls for an engaged professional individual with a solid track record, and strong sense of judgment and logic. This position leads the full human resources (HR) function at the casino resort site level, acts as the subject matter expert and provides guidance and coaching on all HR matters to the site and the leadership team in a diverse unionized environment. This position will lead recruitment strategy and execution, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, talent development, succession planning, employee engagement and labour relations. This role requires a seasoned leader with acute decision-making skills who serves as mentor and communicates with senior management to resolve issues and manage projects.

Key Responsibilities
Actively partner with the management team, including identification of organizational development needs and overall alignment of HR programs and systems to achieve business results
Work with the corporate Labour Relations team to manage all unionized employee relations issues at the site. Works proactively with management and employees to ensure a productive and respectful workplace environment
Lead the team to deliver full recruitment services from sourcing and interviewing to employee offers
Provide advice and guidance on attendance and disability management, health and safety, human rights, and performance management, while ensuring compliance to AGCO and HR related legislation
Provide coaching and resources to the HR team, employees and managers with respect to company policies, career development, training, compensation, recruitment, performance management and employee relations programs
Lead and execute key initiatives that support Gateway's culture
Accurately diagnose organization issues, develop solutions and recommend solutions for implementation
Ensure activities are compliant with all provincial and federal employment laws
Assist in compiling relative HR metrics, analysis and reporting
Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter
Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner
Adhere to departmental quality standards
Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Strong organization, interpersonal skills, analytical communication skills and negotiations skills to build and maintain strong relationships and act as a facilitator
Excellent time management, can handle multiple responsibilities and working in a team environment
Excellent customer service skills including a demonstrated ability to be friendly, efficient, polite and patient
The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure
Strong understanding of how to apply a collective agreement and company policies
Position is located on-site and may require flexible hours to support a 24 hour operation and employee functions
Working knowledge of computer software packages and HRIS
Experience, Training, Certification and Education (demonstrating requirements):
Strong knowledge in human resources and labour relations obtained through a degree in Human Resources along with a minimum of 8 years of HR experience or equivalent with 5 years in a leadership role in a union environment; CHRP and/or CHRL designation is an asset
Knowledge of all applicable HR legislation; HR functions and ability to develop, implement and administer programs
Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and negotiations skills to build and maintain strong relationships and act as a facilitator
Proven high level of customer service
Working knowledge of computer software packages and HRIS
