Nature of Employment: Permanent Full-Time, Shift and Flexible Hours, Evening and Weekend Availability Required

 

Hours: 40 hours per week

 

Salary: $75,000 per year (approximately $36.05 per hour)

Job Summary:

The Assistant Restaurant Manager at Teddy’s Restaurant & Deli will work with the management team to support the daily operations of a high-volume, full-service restaurant and deli that has proudly served the Oshawa community since 1980. With over 70 employees, extensive dine-in and takeout operations, catering services, and a reputation for homemade deli products and exceptional service, Teddy’s Restaurant & Deli requires strong operational leadership to maintain efficiency and service excellence.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

·        Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily restaurant operations for dine-in, takeout, catering, and delivery services;

·        Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure efficient service, proper food preparation, and adherence to company standards;

·        Implement new policies and improve existing operational procedures to support the smooth operations of the restaurant;

·        Develop employee work schedules and coordinate shift coverage based on business demands, seasonal volume, and special promotions;

·        Assist with recruiting and directly training new employees, monitor staff efficiency to provide performance feedback and reports to Owner;

·        Monitor sales performance, budgets and pricing, making recommendations for operational adjustments to improve cost efficiency and profitability;

·        Coordinate catering services, special events, and large customer orders, including service arrangements and logistics as required;

·        Address customer concerns professionally and ensure consistent compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations;

·        Coordinate purchasing activities and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely supply of food, beverages, and operational materials;

·        Oversee cash handling procedures, daily reconciliations, POS balancing, and deposit preparation;

·        Ensure compliance with public health, food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company operational standards;

·        Perform other related duties as required.

 

Minimum Skills Requirements:

·        Completion of secondary school is required;

·        Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality management, food service administration, or business management is considered an asset;

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a high-volume restaurant, hospitality, or food service operations is required;

·        Prior supervisory or managerial experience in the food service or restaurant industry is required; 

·        Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume service environment.
