Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Pastry Cook to support the production and service of desserts at House of Dawn Steakhouse. This role involves preparing and assembling all pastry and dessert components, assisting with mise en place, and ensuring smooth execution during service. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-focused, and passionate about pastry arts.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute dessert components, including cakes, custards, mousses, tart shells, sauces, and garnishes.

Assist in the daily mise en place and production according to the standards set by the Pastry Chef.

Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of plated desserts during service.

Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines precisely.

Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry station at all times.

Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with inventory rotation and labeling.

Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols (HACCP knowledge an asset).

Support the Pastry Chef in new recipe testing, seasonal transitions, and event prep as needed.

Qualifications
1–2 years of pastry or baking experience in a professional kitchen or pastry shop.

Culinary or pastry arts training preferred but not required.

Solid foundational knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.

High attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Ability to follow instructions, multitask, and work efficiently under pressure.

Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
