Job Title

Prep / Line Cook

Job Summary

We’re looking for a reliable, fast, and detail-oriented Prep / Line Cook to support daily production and execute service at a high standard. You’ll handle prep tasks, station setup, cooking during service, and proper cleaning/closing procedures while maintaining strong food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Prep & Production

Complete daily prep lists efficiently (vegetable prep, sauces, stocks, basic butchery, portioning, labeling).

Follow recipes, prep guides, and standards for consistency and yield.

Maintain clean, organized mise en place and storage at all times.

Line Service

Set up stations before service (mise, tools, backups, station par levels).

Cook and plate menu items to spec during service with speed, accuracy, and consistency.

Communicate clearly with Chef/Sous Chef and teammates during service.

Re-stock, adjust par levels, and manage tickets while staying calm under pressure.

Quality & Food Safety

Maintain HACCP/food-safe handling: proper temperatures, rotation (FIFO), labeling, and sanitation.

Monitor product freshness and notify leadership of shortages, waste, or quality issues.

Keep work areas, coolers, and storage spaces clean and compliant.

Cleaning & Closing

Maintain cleanliness throughout shift (wipe-downs, dish area support if needed, trash/recycling).

Break down station properly at end of shift: wrap, label, store, and clean equipment/work surfaces.

Requirements

1+ year experience as a prep cook and/or line cook (or strong culinary training with hands-on kitchen experience).

Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen workflow and station organization.

Able to follow written recipes and verbal direction precisely.

Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain quickly).
