Position Overview
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, maintaining high standards of food quality, guest satisfaction, and team performance. This role combines leadership, business acumen, and hospitality expertise to drive operational excellence, profitability, and a strong team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
Supervise daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure seamless service.
Maintain the highest standards of guest experience, including service flow, timing, and atmosphere.
Enforce compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Manage reservations, guest inquiries, and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Financial & Business Management
Monitor budgets, sales, labor costs, and expenses to meet or exceed financial targets.
Prepare and analyze weekly/monthly performance reports.
Implement cost-control measures while maintaining product and service quality.
Assist in setting strategic goals, promotions, and seasonal initiatives.
Team Leadership & Training
Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff for both FOH and BOH as needed.
Schedule shifts to optimize labor efficiency while balancing employee well-being.
Conduct regular team meetings to align staff on service standards, new menu items, and promotions.
Motivate and mentor team members, fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and excellence.
Guest Experience & Brand Representation
Ensure the restaurant consistently delivers a premium guest experience that aligns with the brand’s identity.
Build guest loyalty through personalized service and relationship management.
Represent the restaurant at industry events, partnerships, and community engagements when required.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in restaurant management or hospitality leadership.
Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including service standards, wine & beverage, and culinary basics.
Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and implement cost-control strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Attributes
Sommelier or beverage program experience is an asset.
Familiarity with fine dining or high-volume premium restaurants.
Proficiency in POS systems, reservations software, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
