The Microsoft Senior Business Development Manager will act as an external relationship manager for some of PwC’s key accounts and industries, as well as acting as an internal advisor to ensure all Sales and Relationship Management (SRM) activities are organized and completed in a timely and efficient manner. They will also play an integral role in developing competitive proposals that convey PwC’s key value themes, contributing to an increase in won opportunities.
As a Microsoft Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Personally develop and maintain client relationships acting as the PwC contact steward for strategic sourcing interactions. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with clients and associated PwC relationship owners
Drive the execution of plans for expanding and strengthening key client relationships
Continuously grow internal firm relationships to expand your network and understanding of the firm’s capabilities
Leverage relationships to identify business opportunities in advance of RFP issuance and obtain competitive intelligence (wallet share, key competitors, differentiators), manage contracting and SOW processes to ensure compliance and smooth interactions; Collaborate with teams to contribute to win stories and/or lessons learned, and drive win/loss debriefs on strategic pursuits
Build client relationships outside of the procurement function to better understand the client’s business needs and strategy
Help the team develop and test our value proposition/win themes and ensure that these are woven through all proposal and pursuit deliverables
Assist with the development of client presentations related to strategic pursuits. Assist in the management of proposal (RFP) responses for assigned clients, using effective kick-off meetings, facilitating bid/no-bid decisions, developing and managing the proposal project plan, orals support/preparation, and completing win/loss debriefs
Proactively monitor strategic pursuits to ensure milestones are met, client commitments are upheld, and opportunities continue to progress, keeping the LRP informed and updated
Ensure CRM opportunity and contact records are accurate (stage, probability, close date, contract value, engagement margin%, client contact, etc)
Drive adoption of the firm’s standard business development methodology and the use of SRM best practices within your assigned clients
Assist the Lead Partners on your assigned clients by owning and driving the development of the account strategy: tailored to the client’s strategy and economic buying centres; leveraging the full suite of PwC capabilities; considering deep Industry knowledge and acumen understanding macro trends affecting the client; maintaining a focus on pursuing medium-to long-term opportunities
Help teams prioritize opportunities based on knowledge of account strategy
Organize and manage ongoing account meetings related to SRM, including management of the client opportunity funnel and other reporting as needed
Support the execution of the firm’s client satisfaction processes and surveys on your assigned accounts
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
Proven experience in Sales and client relationship management in a corporate or professional services firm environment
A successful track record in sales, and understanding and driving client value propositions
Previous experience in developing and managing proposals in competitive processes, leveraging best practices and effective propositions to drive an increased win rate
Ability to coordinate large teams of senior individuals
Effective project management and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
A team player with a “whatever it takes” attitude who works well independently and in a team environment
Flexibility and the demonstrated ability to prioritize activities - be proactive with minimal instruction and stay focused in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
A high degree of tact, diplomacy, and professionalism
A proven ability to confidently build and maintain strong relationships at various levels within an organization
Strong sense of initiative, continuously striving to acquire and develop business knowledge and acumen
A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and/or coaching diverse people and perspectives
