Job Description

Summary of Position:

Blue Blood restaurant at Casa Loma is looking for skilled individual to fulfill the role as a Sous Chef as they will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the proper preparation and presentation of all dishes and assuring that all items are prepared as specified.

Job Description

Prepare and service all food items according to restaurant standards
Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
Planning menu requirements, organizing preliminary food preparation and ensuring that orders are placed for necessary product supplies
Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum 2 year kitchen experience
Exceptional organizational skills
Must be able to communicate well
Exceptional knife skills and training in classic and modern techniques
Able to multitask and pay attention to details
Able to prep and set own station daily on time for service following recipes and kitchen standards set by the Executive Chef
Ensure food quality and safety at all times
Accountability for own station
Monitor and minimize waste
Demonstrates sense of urgency in completing daily tasks and maintain composure under pressure
Must be able to legally work in Canada
